As Careers in Sport + Leisure draws closer there will be lots going on, all the latest news for the event will appear on this page as it happens so to keep up to date make sure you check back here regularly.

CSL speaker arenas timetable released

The timetable has now been released for the five speaker arenas which will provide those in attendance at CSL with the opportunity to listen to some key individuals, all under one roof, at the event.

The five speaker arenas offer open access to all students who attend Careers in Sport + Leisure, overcoming any problems with delegates who wish to listen to a presentation that may have already started.

Additionally, all speakers will be on hand after each presentation to answer any other questions you may have.

There will also be a CV Drop Off, where all attendees can leave copies of their CVs with any of the exhibitors so please remember to bring along copies of your CV.

The FA confirm to exhibit at CSL

The FAThe Football Association is the latest big name exhibitor to confirm for Careers in Sport + Leisure and any student looking to work in football will be sure to meet and learn from some of the biggest names in the sport who will be attending this year’s national careers event at the International Centre, Telford.

The FA, the national governing body for football in England, will be taking the largest stand at the event and showcasing a number of projects during CSL. These include recruiting staff for the new training home of the England teams and national performance centre, St. George’s Park, providing information on coaching courses and careers advice to budding coaches, and promoting the new FA careers website as well as opportunities in officiating and volunteering.

In addition to The FA, Challenger Sports, the world’s largest football coaching camp company will again be in attendance, actively recruiting coaches, while Tom Bates, sports psychologist and coach to a host of Premiership clubs will be providing inspirational sessions.

Birmingham City's Reserve Team Manager Richard Beale will detail his rise to the top that started by coaching local teams, playing and coaching in America and the various steps to now being one of the best young coaches in professional football.

With just over three weeks until the third Careers in Sport + Leisure, the country’s only national careers event for the industry, we’re delighted to let you know some of the speakers that will be attending this year’s event.

As one of CSL's two key elements, the five speaker arenas, which will host nearly 40 different speakers over the event’s two days, will allow the young people in attendance to hear directly from individuals who have been successful in the sport and leisure industry about just what it takes to succeed in your career.

Speaker arenas announced for CSL 2011

With just one month until this year’s Careers in Sport + Leisure we’re delighted to announce how the content and key messages will be delivered by the speakers at the event – making it even easier for young people to access information about the careers they want to pursue.

CSL will play host to a total of five arenas, all with separate themes to ensure you know what to find and where and with a number of experts lined up to pass on their advice to the young people in attendance, CSL 2011 is not to be missed. The five arenas will be:

Arena 1: The business world of sport and leisure
Focusing on the opportunities available within the business of sport, including events, marketing, commercial and sponsorship. Delegates will be able to hear from people working for brands, as well as those who own their own companies.

Arena 2: Fitness, gyms and the outdoors
Whether it’s working as a personal trainer, working for a gym chain or being an outdoors instructor, Arena 2 will bring you speakers from all of those and more. Listen to the likes of FitPro and Nuffield Health as they give you all the information you need on working in this growing industry.

Arena 3: Sports science, coaching and development
Do you want to be a coach, or work as a sports scientist at a professional club? Is sports therapy or player development your thing? Arena 3 will be the only place to go in order to further your knowledge, contacts and insight into how to begin your career in these areas.

Arena 4: Training and qualifications in sport and leisure
So you know the career you want, but aren’t sure how to go about it – whether it’s training to become a personal trainer, working towards that apprenticeship in sport and active leisure or doing a degree, Arena 4 is the place to find out how best to get qualified.

British Colleges Sport re-confirms partnership with CSL 2011

We are delighted to announce that for the second year running, Careers in Sport + Leisure will take place with British Colleges Sport as an official Event Partner. The partnership will also see BCS’s leadership and volunteering foundation ‘Lead Further’ become the official charity of the event.

As the largest member organisation representing sporting interests of students and Further Education colleges nationwide, British Colleges Sport has over 270 affiliated colleges across England, Scotland and Wales. With the aim to develop sporting potential in students and colleges, BCS provides high quality sporting opportunities and services including competition programmes at local, regional and national levels across over 15 sports. BCS also acts as the representative voice for the views of staff at all member colleges at national forums.

United Through Sport the latest exhibitor to sign up to CSL 2011

United Through Sport has this week confirmed its involvement as an exhibitor at Careers in Sport + Leisure.

New to the event, United Through Sport is a registered charity that supports sport and recreation in developing countries.

Predominantly working in South Africa, United Through Sport delivers sporting opportunities to 15,000 disadvantaged children through a combination of volunteering and fundraising activities.

Nuffield Health and British Racing School confirm attendance

The exhibition floor for this year’s Careers in Sport + Leisure continues to fill with two top industry organisations recently signing up to attend CSL 2011 on November 30 – December 1 at the International Centre in Telford.

After a successful first appearance at the event in 2010, Nuffield Health, one of the country’s top independent integrated health service providers, have confirmed that they will once again be attending the event.

With the company offering fitness facilities, health assessments and professional advice and care across their many sites throughout the UK, the range of services provided results in a diverse range of employment opportunities which will be promoted to the individuals set to attend CSL 2011 at the International Centre in Telford across the two days.
