SportGrads
SportGrads is the country’s newest and most innovative recruitment programme focusing on creating opportunities for the most talented young people that wish to pursue a career in sport.
SportGrads is not about finding the best young athletes for clubs or teams, but finding the most agile, flexible, best young minds with an attitude to match their aptitude. SportGrads will focus on placing young people with the right skills and a desire to work in marketing, sales, events, PR and communications, HR, finance, sports development and general management functions within a sporting context.
We will also provide bespoke and tailored training solutions, events and networking opportunities to improve the skills, expertise and understanding of all those that join SportGrads.
The service is free to all those that wish to register and aims to provide enthusiastic sport and leisure focused graduates with companies, organisations, professional clubs and sporting bodies who are looking to access the country’s biggest and best pool of young talent.
The service is available to all those that have graduated on or since the summer of 2007 as well as those that will graduate this summer.

The launch of SportGrads
Wenlock Suite, International Centre Telford 24th November, 15.45 – 17.30
SportGrads will be officially launched immediately following the close of day one of Careers in Sport + Leisure. The event will take place in the Wenlock Suite at the International Centre with invitations extended to all speakers, exhibitors and sponsors of the event as well as additional guests who network be alongside the ‘top 100’ SportGrads chosen from the talent pool to meet with potential future employers.
The event is the first of two networking events planned on the first day of the event and will provide a great opportunity for both the SportGrads members as well as the invited guests to meet and we believe will add significant value to the overall benefits package for all our contributors whether these are speakers, exhibitors or sponsors.

MY CSL STORY
I’m just in my first year at college, I’m really enjoying it so far and I love my course. My tutor has been telling us to start thinking more about what kind of job we want to do when we are older. I’ve never really thought about this before and always thought that it would sort itself out.
I’m always running and keeping fit, I spend a lot of time in the gym and I’m going to try and do a marathon next year. I’ve thought about working at the gym to get some experience and maybe becoming an instructor or a personal trainer when I finish college. I’ve never really been interested in going to uni.
Having seen the companies that were at Careers in Sport and Leisure last year I’ll be coming this year to find out about the courses I can take so that I can work in the fitness industry.
